Harriet Catherine Miller

Grandma Cathy
February 28, 1928 - March 31, 2005

Such a sweet, sweet woman. I know she's with Randy's grandpa now - they eloped when she was a teenager :) We love her very much & will miss her. Celebrate the fact that she had an absolutely amazing and full life. Cherish each & every second. xoxo

Principles test

Since teaching, any test that I take is always interesting. I end up wasting my time looking at the value of each question & whether or not it is a good question, instead of actually working on the test.
I took my real estate principles test today. It's kind of like a pretest for the state exam. I do realize that this is a profession that is not necessarily known for it's honest & loyal agents, but here's my problems with the state's process of getting licensed:

  • In order to qualify to take the test, you have to sit & watch 30 hours of video.
  • This video consists of a man reading from a book (which you have in front of you), with a few mildly funny stories mingled in.
  • Did I mention that the test I took today was open book and multiple choice?
  • Although the state doesn't release its test bank, the company where I took the class says that there are five different tests, which the state rotates. So you have a chance of getting one in five tests.
  • One of the books that came with the class contains all of the questions that are most likely to be on the test. Practically word for word (minus the extensive grammatical errors).

So, I'm thinking that after the CBEST, MSAT, & CSET, this should be a piece of cake. Of course, now that I've put that in writing, I'm destined to fail.

Before I go, let me note: Since I made the reference to grammatical errors, please let me know if you see any here so that I can correct them. (Was that a run-on sentence?) xoxo

Hmm. . .

Bought our plans for the new house today - yea! Immediately after we got home, I started calling engineers to have the plans engineered for our lot. Only one (out of 20) called me back. I now know it is going to be a very long process. But it is very exciting - we get to pick out everything!!

I'm about to win the mother of the year award:
I put together a slideshow for my new DVD burner earlier today. An hour & a half later the thing isn't working & I'm not too happy. Gracie wakes up from her nap, so I decide to play with my girl & give my computer a break. I can't get the damn thing out of my head. She is now watching cartoons & I'm geeking it up. Randy says he thinks it's ok, as long as it doesn't happen all the time. Considering the pangs of guilt, I don't think it will become a habit.

FYI's about Randy & Gracie:
  • She can now knock & say, "Kna kna!"
  • She loves chocolate.
  • We caught her making out with Riley yesterday - open mouth & everything.
  • Randy was highly upset by the making out.
  • He's outside weedwacking right now - what a guy!

I've now spent way to much time online. xoxo

My First Entry

So I was sitting here torturing myself late at night by cruising the web, when I decided to create a blog. Everyone is doing it, so I guess I will too (aren't I such a follower?). This will be a place for me to share anything that flutters through my pretty little head.
WARNING: since a good deal of my time is spent with my girl Gracie & her daddy, there will be a lot of talk about them. But that is the nice thing about the internet - if you don't like it you can go elsewhere. You won't hurt my feelings. xoxo
